VKernel announced the appointment of Gene Fay as vice
president of sales. In this role, Fay is responsible for VKernel’s worldwide
sales and will be instrumental in expanding the company’s go-to-market strategy
and building successful channel partner programs.
“Gene is a great addition to VKernel as he brings a lot of
energy, excitement, and experience to our team as we look to rapidly grow this
business,” said Alex Bakman, founder and CEO of VKernel. “He has achieved a lot
of success in his previous positions and his approach and expertise in building
customer relationships and channel partnerships aligns perfectly with our mission.”
Prior to joining VKernel, Fay was vice president of
worldwide sales and global alliances for the security information and event
management (SIEM) business unit of RSA, the Security Division of EMC. He joined
EMC after the company acquired Network Intelligence where he was vice president
of business development. In that position, Fay provided the sales leadership
and grew the EMC SIEM business by over 40 percent in 2007 after the
acquisition. Fay has also held other management positions with EMC, Avid Sports
(founder), and Avid Technology.
“I have watched the virtualization space explode over the
last five years,” said Gene Fay, vice president of sales at VKernel. “With our
innovative virtual appliances for systems management, a very hot market, and a great
team, VKernel offers a fantastic opportunity to work with customers who are
rapidly virtualizing their data centers and partners that are helping them
through the process.”
The VKernel Virtual Appliance Suite for Systems Management
is a set of innovative, “plug-and-play” virtual appliances designed to quickly
address real world systems management challenges as organizations migrate to
VMware ESX virtual data center environments. VKernel products enable IT groups
to solve today’s critical pain points by providing visibility into the capacity
and resource consumption of each virtual machine. VKernel is currently offering
a Chargeback Virtual Appliance for gaining cost visibility and implementing
chargeback, and a Capacity Bottleneck Analyzer Virtual Appliance for
identifying and eliminating capacity bottlenecks.
