Managed Methods has announced the availability of their Web service management portal JaxView 4.0. While providing full support for the SOA and Web service management for the IT operations, JaxView 4.0 offers expanded features with the Agentless Web services management and SOA visibility functionality.

For scaling purposes, JaxView allows for the JaxView servers to be deployed in a centrally configured distributed fashion either in a cluster or collector processor deployment. This type of implementation allows for the distribution of load in high message volume environments. The distributed architecture also can be used as a failover mechanism in case a server is out of service.

JaxView 4.0 Agentless visibility features include:

1. Autodiscovery of all services in your environment off the network
2. No Agents. Since JaxView provides this visibility off the network, it is independent of the platform you’re services are installed on.
3. Visibility monitoring for both SSL – and non SSL network traffic.
   
4. Simple Monitor - alert - report architecture
5. Transaction Monitoring and Web service flow relationships
6. JaxView’s architecture allows the user to create a set of monitors for a Web service that will monitor metrics for performance, fault management, metering, SLA management, and Security of a Web service. If rules and thresholds are met, then alerts such as Email, SNMP, JMS, SOAP, and Script-Execution will be triggered.
