Doug Levin, CEO of Black Duck Software, will be featured as part of the Enterprise Open Source (EOS) Power Panel, to be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2007.
In addition, Fred Holahan, Chairman and Co-Founder of Active Endpoints, and David Mavashev, CEO of Nastel, will participate in the SOA Power Panel, to be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2007.
"We are honored to have the presence of these three visionary, entrepreneurial CEOs on our Power Panels," said Conference Chair and SYS-CON.TV host Roger Strukhoff in making the announcement. "They each bring unique individual viewpoints to two mission-critical topics for today's enterprise IT developers and managers--SOA and Enterprise Open Source." Strukhoff, who also serves as Publisher and Editorial Director of SYS-CON Media, will moderate the Enterprise Open Source Power Panel.
SOA World Magazine Editor-in-Chief and renowned SOA consultant Sean Rhody will moderate the SOA Power Panel. "I am looking forward to discussing the great issues of the day involving SOA with Fred Holahan and David Mavashev," Rhody said. "They will provide tremendous insight and liveliness to the discussion, which will deliver great value to SOA World attendees in New York this year."
A true Enterprise Open Source pioneer, Doug Levin served as the CEO of MessageMachines and X-Collaboration Software Corporation, two VC-backed companies based in Boston, before founding Black Duck Software in 2002. From 1995 to 1999, he worked as an interim executive or consultant to CMGI Direct, IBM/Lotus Development Corporation, Oracle Software Corporation, Solbright Software, Mosaic Telecommunications, Bright Tiger Technologies, Best!Software and several other software companies. From 1987 to 1995, Doug held various senior management positions with Microsoft Corporation, including heading up worldwide licensing for corporate purchases of non-OEM Microsoft software products.
A respected entrepreneur and frequent public speaker, Fred Holahan is one of the software industry's foremost experts on business and systems integration. Prior to Active Endpoints, he was Vice President and General Manager of Novell, Inc.'s Business Integration Products division. He was also the co-founder and President of two prior software ventures - GemLogic, Inc. (acquired by Novell/SilverStream), and LexiBridge Corporation (acquired by Level3 Communications). He has also held senior level R&D and technical marketing positions at DataEase International, Inc., Interactive Data, and Progress Software.
Nastel's David Mavashev is a leading expert on IT infrastructure, middleware and messaging technologies with more than 25 years' experience architecting systems and solutions. A successful entrepreneur, David founded Nastel in 1994 and also served as the company’s CTO for many years. Prior to that, he was the technical manager of the messaging group at NYNEX, where he architected and managed the implementation of the first commercial transactional messaging product, which now forms the basis for IBM WebSphere MQ (formerly MQ-Series). His areas of expertise encompass implementing SOAs and the underlying infrastructure monitoring that is fundamental for SOA governance, as well as tools and technologies for monitoring and managing integrated application processes and performance across the enterprise.
