"Kaazing and Microsoft are tackling the performance and quality issues normally associated with streaming data over the Web - such as seamlessly navigating through firewalls and proxies- where it counts: by optimizing the underlying transport of rich data in real time," said Kaazing CEO Jonas Jacobi (pictured left) as Kaazing Corporation, makers of realtime web acceleration technology, today announced immediate support for Microsoft Silverlight in its Kaazing Enterprise Gateway.
The combination of Microsoft’s Silverlight technology and Kaazing’s real-time web messaging technology, says Jacobi, makes it possible to stream unprecedented volumes of live data to huge numbers of distributed Web clients quickly and efficiently. He also announced that Kaazing has joined the Microsoft Silverlight Partner Initiative.
“We are delighted to be the first to offer our customers a solution that enables full-duplex Web communication and data streaming with the Microsoft’s Silverlight technology,” Jacobi continued.
Kaazing’s customers in the financial services, online betting, and gaming industries have been eagerly awaiting Microsoft Silverlight support within Kaazing’s products, he noted. "With this release, financial services have a richer than ever variety of protocols and web clients with which to build tomorrow’s demanding real-time financial applications," said Jacobi.
Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering next-generation media experiences and rich interactive applications. Silverlight is already powering thousands of applications around the world and organizations including Entertainment Tonight, the NBA and NBC Universal to deliver superior Web-based experiences to their customers.
“This is an important relationship on many levels, and demonstrates Silverlight’s power and flexibility for the financial services industry,” said Michel van Leeuwen, Managing Director of Worldwide Capital Markets at Microsoft. “Microsoft has a long tradition of working with our partners to bring new solutions to financial services firms, and we’re delighted that our Silverlight technology—through our relationship with Kaazing—will benefit the rapidly growing number of customers who are extending the reach of their real-time applications to the Web."
