RightScale has announced that it has added the new Amazon EC2 Europe cloud infrastructure to the list of clouds supported by the RightScale Cloud Management Platform. Amazon Web Services global and European Amazon EC2 customers now have access to RightScale's automated cloud management platform to manage and scale cloud deployments as well as facilitate application migration and management across U.S. and EU clouds.
Amazon EC2 in Europe provides Amazon EC2 users with reduced latency and aids them in adhering to EU regulatory requirements for data storage and processing. For global companies, it supports an additional level of redundancy and disaster recovery. To help companies with the challenges of migrating and managing applications across multiple clouds, RightScale will now also support Amazon EC2 deployments in Europe.
RightScale protects EC2 users from this underlying complexity and reduces the administration burden of managing cloud deployments. The RightScale Cloud Management Platform enables Amazon EC2 customers to migrate their cloud applications between Amazon EC2 clouds in the U.S. and Europe, as well as maintain and manage all their cloud deployments through one management platform. Now, all of RightScale's cloud management features, machine images and cloud-ready ServerTemplates are available for Amazon EC2 customers in the EU. Amazon EC2 deployments that span the U.S. and Europe also share a common user interface, so customers can see and manage all servers across all regions in one place.
In addition to Amazon EC2 in the U.S. and in Europe, the RightScale Cloud Management Platform also supports clouds from FlexiScale, GoGrid and the Eucalyptus project. RightScale also works with Rackspace to assure compatibility with their cloud offerings, including Slicehost, Mosso and CloudFS.
