Many times shipped BPEL processes need to be customized at a customer site or at various departments of enterprises. "Such customizations need to be retained in subsequent upgrades," notes Khanderao Kand, a Lead Architect for Oracle Fusion Middleware at Oracle. Kand will be giving a breakout session this week on "Extensibility, Customizations, and Life Cycle Management of BPEL Processes" at SYS-CON's 14th International SOA World Conference & Expo in San Jose, California.
Kand's session will first cover various possible customizations and issues related to those customizations and lifecycle management. Then he'll be providing guidelines for designing process for both data and process extensibility. Finally he will elaborate patterns like externalizing the decision points for developing the agile processes often required in today’s rapidly changing business requirements and then outline some solutions to retain the customizations.
