Speaker Bio:
Dr. G. (John) Janakiraman is CTO of Skytap. He is responsible for driving Skytap’s technology strategy and for leading its engineering development and architecture teams. Dr. Janakiraman joined Skytap from HP Labs in Palo Alto, CA where he was the research manager for the Data Center Architecture team. At HP Labs, he and his team developed innovative server virtualization, server architecture, and energy-efficient data center technologies for the next generation of data centers. Dr. Janakiraman has been granted numerous patents and has authored a number of publications on data center architecture and virtualization.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Werner Vogels is Vice President & Chief Technology Officer at Amazon.com where he is responsible for driving the company's technology vision. Prior to joining Amazon, he worked as a research scientist at Cornell University where he was a principal investigator in several research projects that target the scalability and robustness of mission-critical enterprise computing systems.

Vogels holds a Ph.D. from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and has authored close to 80 articles for journals and conferences, most of them on distributed systems technologies for enterprise computing.
