TRANGO Virtual Processors Announces Secure Virtualization for Operating Systems

Allows Customers to Simultaneously Host a Real-Time Operating System Alongside Non-Real-Time Environments

TRANGO Virtual Processors announced that it has added support for the μITRON RTOS to the growing list of operating systems.hosted by the TRANGO Hypervisor.

According to Pierre Coulombeau, TRANGO’s COO, “By enabling customers to simultaneously host a real-time operating system like μITRON alongside a variety of other non-real time environments, we are helping to create highly optimized applications that allow a single SOC to do the work of several.” He added that “virtualization also allows system designers to create more robust solutions both from the standpoint of uptime, and inherent security”.

TRANGO's secure isolation, robust protection of critical data and services, and the company’s steadfast commitment to providing the thinnest, lightest hypervisor in the commercial marketplace makes this a compelling solution for applications such as multifunction printers, medical equipment, cell phones, and set top boxes.

TRANGO also enables easy integration and a short time to market thanks to a complete Eclipse-based SDK, a fully featured tool suite, and customized engineering and consulting services.

μITRON for use with the TRANGO Hypervisor is available immediately for all supported platforms.
