ARMONK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/18/08 -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) led all vendors worldwide in IT operations management software revenue in 2007, according to a new report from analyst firm Gartner, Inc.
According to the independent report, IBM led all vendors in revenue and grew its revenue share to 24.5 percent, nearly double the share of its nearest competitor. The Gartner report shows that IBM grew 14.1 percent, faster than the overall market which grew 13.5 percent to more than $12.9 billion in total revenue in 2007. The report also shows that IBM extended its lead and grew revenue share while closest competitors each lost share.
IBM provides IT operations management software through the IBM Service Management portfolio which helps businesses gain greater visibility into their IT operations, manage risk, and automate IT processes to help simplify and reduce the cost of running data centers.
