With the adoption of virtualization, virtual machines are replacing physical servers in the data center and introducing a unique set of management requirements. Policy-based management in the virtualized infrastructure is an approach that is used to simplify and automate management by establishing policies to deal with situations that are likely to occur. Many organizations today mistakenly assume that their approach for applying best practices in the virtual infrastructure will be the same as their physical one. This session will discuss leading practices and pitfalls of applying and enforcing IT policies in a virtualized environment.
