ELDRIDGE, Iowa, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- In Larry G. Patten's new thriller, "Count Down to Eternity" (published by AuthorHouse -- http://www.authorhouse.com/), Dr. George Leffingwell is forced to make a decision that will affect the fate of the world as he struggles to understand the meaning of life.
A hybrid of spirituality and science fiction, "Count Down to Eternity" takes the reader into Leffingwell's mind on a journey that challenges notions of why life began on Earth. It is hardly a pleasant trip. Leffingwell himself describes it as an "invasion":
George Leffingwell lay in bed holding his body rigid, trying not to make a sound. It was starting again tonight, the same as it had every night for the past week. Even though he tried to remain silent, he could still hear the sound of air entering and escaping from his lungs. He tried to breathe more slowly to muffle the sound but the sound was still there. He lay in fear that this sound that he could not stop was giving him away to whatever had decided to invade his life.
This shadowy invader, known as the Guardian, explains the reason for the existence of the world, but can Leffingwell believe what he has heard or is it a deception? Should he cooperate with the shadows that speak to him or fight them? Maybe their entire story is just an alien plot designed to take over the world. Will he be able to accept the unbelievable responsibility that he has been given? Will he be a messenger of salvation or an instrument of destruction?
