Virtualization is not a new story; its technologies allow companies to meet new business needs and say goodbye to underutilized hardware platforms, power consumption, server sprawl and spiraling IT costs. The technology is here and the benefits are already proving to be fruitful. However, these benefits are only possible if effective management tools are in place. This session will discuss virtualization's missing link – data center automation – and how organizations can use it to create an agile, policy-based environment to automate and orchestrate virtual machine lifecycle management. Speaker Bio: Stephen is a seasoned IT veteran, now in a senior Business Development role with Novell. Prior to Novell, Stephen was founder and CEO of PlateSpin and led the long-term business strategy for the company. PlateSpin was recently acquired by Novell. Stephen is a graduate of Queen's University, where he studied both Math and Computing Science and more recently completed business leadership training at the Ivey School of Business in London, Ontario.
