The North American Components business of Arrow Electronics announced the availability of embedded Linux software solutions from Timesys Corporation.

Enabling developers to create their own commercial-grade custom Linux platforms, Timesys' Web-based LinuxLink software subscription includes an embedded Linux platform, precompiled and tested for a given processor, and a full suite of Eclipse-based development tools, documentation and support.

Timesys serves customers in various industries such as aerospace, telecommunications, automotive, industrial automation, medical and consumer electronics.

“Timesys with its unique LinuxLink is a powerful addition to Arrow's offerings and delivers on our commitment of long-term support to developers working with Linux," said Chris Breslin, vice president of marketing and product management for embedded computing at Arrow.

“Today's processor and operating system design selections are tightly coupled," said Gregory Quiggle, vice president of sales and marketing for Timesys. "We see the relationship with Arrow as a terrific means to help the development community make well-informed design decisions regarding embedded Linux and various popular processors, 'system on a chip,' and 'system on modules.'"
