RELDATA announced the availability of intuitive Adaptive Storage Wizards for
its 9240 Unified Storage Systems and Gateways.
“With only small increases projected for IT budgets
in 2008, it is imperative that enterprises look to simplify their storage
operations as a key component to keeping costs in check,”
said David Hubbard, RELDATA CEO. “The easiest way to
simplify storage management is to adopt innovative storage systems designed
specifically to lessen the strain on IT administration time and resources.
RELDATA provides this innovation better than anyone else in the industry and
with our Adaptive Storage Wizards we are bringing new levels of simplicity to
the data center.”
With RELDATA Adaptive Storage Wizards, storage administrators are guided
through the day-to-day management of complex storage tasks, such as
virtualizing a disk, assigning iSCSI storage to an application from a shared IP
storage pool, and properly setting security/performance parameters. RELDATA’s open architecture allows the administrator to choose from
a mixture of heterogeneous disk arrays to virtualize, allowing them to tailor
the storage to the specific needs of the application. Each wizard adapts by
seamlessly and transparently linking to other wizards in order to quickly and
accurately complete the storage task requested.
According to Jay Vocaire, Systems Administrator at Innovative Process
Administration LLC, one of the most experienced and successful managed services
providers in the benefits administration outsourcing arena, “RELDATA’s newly-designed interface and wizards will allow me to save
time and 'clicks' by allowing me to fully create and enable a LUN without
having to work through multiple areas of the GUI. Additionally, I will be able
to train members of my staff to use the devices far more easily.”
“RELDATA’s Adaptive Storage
Wizards are comparable to the EqualLogic iSCSI user interface
in terms of ease of use,” said Jamie Borst, Manager of
Scale Datacom, an EqualLogic reseller dedicated to helping customers get the
solution they need at a price they can afford (www.scaledatacom.com/reldata).
“We added RELDATA to our line of products for those
customers that also had NAS or heterogeneous storage. With RELDATA, our
customers can manage all their iSCSI and NAS storage, including WAN
replication, through one pane of glass.”
According to Tom Trainer, Managing Partner at
Adaptive Storage Wizards for iSCSI SANs are integrated into RELDATA’s RELvos 2.2 Storage Virtualization
Operating System, which is available immediately on 9240 Unified Storage
Systems and Gateways.
