Terremark Enhances Disaster Recovery, Data Storage Team

Team of Experts in IT Recovery, Business Continuity, Virtualization and Data Storage Systems Have Joined Terremark

Terremark Worldwide announced that a team of experts in IT disaster recovery, business continuity, virtualization and data storage systems have joined the Company. Tom Mays, former President of Accris Corporation, will lead Terremark’s disaster recovery and data storage team. In addition, Mitch Kitay, former Vice President of Accris, and five other industry specialists have also joined the Company.

“Adding the Accris team to our Company will enhance our service offerings for disaster recovery and business continuity,” said Manuel D. Medina, Chairman and CEO for Terremark. “Their wealth of knowledge and expertise with various technologies, including virtualization, will enable them to contribute significantly to our product development efforts.”

The Accris team brings a wealth of knowledge and combined experience in providing world-class IT disaster recovery, data storage systems design, and advanced backup and recovery services. The team has experience working with many large enterprise customers and public-sector entities. They also developed key partnerships with companies like NetApp, Symantec, VMWare, Hitachi Data Systems, Quantum, SpectraLogic, IBM, Sun Microsystems and others.

“We are very excited to be joining a company with the innovative technology platform and proven track record of providing customers with world-class service,” said Mays. “We look forward to introducing Terremark’s full range of services to our current customer base.”

Prior to working at Accris, Mays served as a research and development and mission rehearsal consultant with U.S. Air Force Special Operations and chief systems architect of the Florida SunPass automated toll-collection system.
