Butler Group Indentifies TIBCO Spotfire as Leading Next-Generation "BI for The Masses"

TIBCO Leading the Pack

Spotfire announced that Butler Group has identified TIBCO Spotfire as a leading next generation Business Intelligence (BI) vendor. Butler cited TIBCO Spotfire for its strength in supplying a BI solution that serves the entire workforce.

In the new report entitled 'TIBCO Spotfire Enterprise Analytics Platform', Butler identifies TIBCO Spotfire as leading the way to empower employees and ordinary business workers with real-time analytics. The report also discusses the value of the TIBCO acquisition of Spotfire in June 2007 as giving users a quicker and easier way to deploy BI solutions and integrate these with existing business processes and systems.

Richard Edwards, a Senior Research Analyst at Butler Group and author of the report, said: "Without exception, all organizations need to become more efficient in the way they exploit their information and data assets. However, the problems associated with the way in which large (and small) organizations utilize their corporate data and information are very deep-seated, and the resolutions that need to be applied are far more fundamental than can be achieved by simply buying more Business Intelligence (BI) products."

In Butler Group's view, the BI market is only just energizing after several years of stagnation. BI vendors have struggled to address some of the key user requirements of a rapidly changing market. The ethos behind the TIBCO Spotfire Enterprise Analytics Platform is that it allows organizations to equip every employee to quickly discover new insights in the information they work with everyday.

"Spotfire is very much a user-centric BI solution with a rich user interface that provides a highly visual and interactive analysis environment. Suitable for technical experts and business managers alike, there is strong emphasis on dynamic and visual querying and filtering of data, drag and drop configuration of visualizations, interactively-linked visualizations ranging from typical bar and line charts to maps to box plots," he concluded.

Roger Oberg, VP of Product Strategy at TIBCO Spotfire, said: "Insights that drive better decisions and competitive advantage can come at any time and from anyone. TIBCO Spotfire allows customers to deploy BI pervasively so that it becomes a natural part of everyone's work."
