ILS Technology Accepted into the IBM SOA Specialty

Service Oriented Architecture Approach Drives Business Agility and Flexibility

ILS Technology announced its acceptance to the IBM Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Specialty after successfully completing IBM’s rigorous SOA technical and business requirements. With this achievement ILS Technology’s deviceWISE 2.0 platform integrates with the IBM software and strategy for SOA.

“SOA is an increasingly important business requirement for organizations because of the business flexibility it enables,” said Sandy Carter, vice president of IBM SOA and WebSphere. “ILS Technology’s commitment to SOA provides their customers with a powerful way to reduce integration costs while rapidly deploying enterprise manufacturing intelligence applications across their manufacturing organization.”

ILS Technology’s deviceWISE technology allows customers to enable seamless communication between intelligent devices in the plant and enterprise applications to provide businesses with a detailed view of their production environment and the ability to monitor and respond to operational issues in real-time.

The acceptance of the deviceWISE 2.0 platform into IBM’s SOA Specialty program offers value to a variety of industry partners who have committed to embed deviceWISE into their product portfolio.

“We are very excited to see the deviceWISE solution gain industry adoption and recognition from critical partners like IBM and their SOA Specialty program,” said Fred Yentz, chief operating officer for ILS Technology. “In addition, early adopters of deviceWISE such as Mitsubishi Electric’s eFactory portfolio will be able to take advantage of our solution’s acceptance into the IBM program.”

“We expect many industries to migrate to SOA over the next several years and IBM is a clear leader in guiding companies through this transition,” said John Keever, executive vice president and CTO for ILS Technology. “ILS Technology and IBM previously have worked together to help companies establish connectivity between smart devices and the enterprise. Our companies are unified in the goal to establish this game-changing ability.”

“IBM evaluates ground-breaking technologies in order provide our customers with an integrated framework that enables rapid deployment of SOA-related applications and programs,” said David Petrucci, global executive, Industrial Sector Solution Sales, IBM Software Group. “ILS Technology’s deviceWISE offers the capabilities organizations need to enable greater integration between production and the enterprise.”
