webMethods Portal Offers Single Point of Access to Web Applications

webMethods, the industry's first infrastructure company, announced that broadband communications company Charter Communications is deploying its webMethods Portal to bring together internal web-based applications, tools and web sites. The goal of this aggregation is to bring various web applications and related tools into a single web interface. Moreover, this will allow the creation of an internal document repository.

 

By streamlining systems, webMethods says a company's efficiency can be improved. With Charter Communications, employees will have a more streamlined and economical means of monitoring network status, services and products. Employees will no longer need to access several systems to perform duties and only those employees with specifically assigned access will utilize the systems.

 

The company will deploy webMethods Portal throughout its offices and call centers into order to aggregate its division-based systems. The Portal includes portlet wizards and pre-built portlets specifically designed to accelerate and simplify development. "Charter chose the webMethods Portal solution in order to achieve an efficient interface for critical applications across our extended enterprise," said Chuck Gerarden, director of products integration, Charter Communications.

 

More than 1,200 enterprise customers worldwide run, measure and optimize their businesses using webMthods. In 2003 Deloittle recognized webMethods as the fastest growing software company in North America.
