Miko Matsumura, well known technology advisor, speaker and entrepreneur, and currently Deputy CTO at webMethods Inc., will be giving the Opening Keynote in two weeks' time at the 12th international SOA World Conference & Expo 2007 West, at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco.
A polymath with an MBA from San Francisco State University and a masters in neuroscience from Yale University, Matsumura chairs the OASIS SOA Adoption Blueprints Technical Committee. Prior to joining webMethods he gained wide recognition for his work at The Middleware Company, Systinet, and as Chief Java Evangelist for Sun Microsystems.
His intention with the keynote is to enjoin SOA practitioners to stop monkeying around with "Guerilla SOA" (as the lightweight approach to using web services for enterprise application integration has sometimes been called).
"It's time," says Matsumura, "for Chimpanzee SOA!"
Using evolution as his metaphor, Matsumura will aims in his San Francisco keynote to present what he calls "a highly evolved, yet pragmatic SOA methodology to unleash the creativity of Composite Applications, Web 2.0, Business Process Applications, B2B in your Enterprise Network."
By the end, Matsumura hopes delegates at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco, and the online audience around the world following his presentation on SYS-CON.TV, will gain a sense of the true purpose of core building blocks of SOA and learn how to address system complexity without getting bogged down in the tar pit of the "thousands of incomprehensible moving parts" or the intractable political battles that tend to emerge from multi-organizational SOA.
