From VMWorld last week, Microsoft promised the first Windows Server 2008 release candidate (RC0) would be out by the end of the month along with the very first public sighting of Viridian, its virtualization hypervisor, in the form of a pre-beta Community Technology Preview. Longhorn, of course, has been delayed again, this time until the first or early second quarter of next year. Viridian was always supposed to follow six months later.
