OTTAWA, May 14 /PRNewswire/ --
- Atreus Leverages Key OSS Standard to Speed Delivery of Composite IMS-based Offerings
Atreus Systems(TM), the leading supplier of provisioning and activation software for VoIP and user-centric IMS services, today announced that its xAuthority provisioning platform has been certified as compliant with the OSS Through Java Initiative's Service Activation API. This certification ensures that xAuthority will integrate rapidly and cost-effectively with compliant Order Management and Customer Relationship Management OSS systems for the receipt and processing of service activation requests for the full range of Atreus-supported VoIP and IMS services.

"Industry standards for the back office are critical to the success of our next generation service offerings," said Shetal Sheth, Director, Qwest. "As vendors in the OSS space commit to standards like OSS/J, the increased interoperability and interchangeability of components becomes a significant enabler of market success."
The OSS through Java(TM) Initiative (OSS/J) is a TeleManagement Forum Technical Program dedicated to helping telecommunications companies harness the power of their Operations/Business Support Systems (OSS/BSS) while containing costs. The OSS/J service activation API, one of several APIs developed and implemented by OSS/J, specifically addresses service provider requirements for service activation.
Through its OSS/J interface, Atreus xAuthority makes it possible for providers to readily integrate critical flow-through provisioning capabilities into their back office environment. Atreus provides out-of-the-box workflow definitions for the most widely-deployed IMS services -- including IP Centrex, SIP Trunking, Hosted Call Center, Mobile PBX, and Unified Messaging -- that automate and streamline the many activities required to fulfill complex service orders.
"Operations Support Systems need to adapt now to handle the complex integrations that come with the delivery of rich media services," said Doug Bellinger, CTO, Atreus Systems. "Atreus' implementation of the OSS/J Service Activation API is about increasing plug and play in the back office and helping our customers get the most out of their integration dollar. By promoting repeatability and standardization, we're helping to speed the delivery of revenue-generating services."
Visit Atreus at booth # 164 at TeleManagement World in Nice, France from May 21 - 24, 2007.
Doug Bellinger, CTO, Atreus Systems has been enlisted by TeleManagement Forum to address, "Implementing IMS Services Using OSS/J in a SOA / SDP Environment". Conference attendees at TeleManagement World will hear expert insight in migrating from a vertically integrated service delivery model to a horizontal model that creates, bundles, and delivers high-value SIP- and IMS-based services.
