Efficiency Vermont Chooses PlanetEcosystems' Consumer Engagement Platform to Boost Its Home Energy Efficiency Programs

Optimization Service to Help Households in Vermont Find Energy Efficiency Opportunities That Best Suit Their Needs and Save Money

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/29/14 -- PlanetEcosystems today announced that Efficiency Vermont, Vermont's statewide energy efficiency utility, has launched a pilot project employing a set of consumer engagement tools from its P-ECOSYS consumer engagement technology platform. Chosen to enhance Efficiency Vermont's home energy services, PlanetEcosystems' web-service platform is designed to engage customers in learning about energy saving opportunities and provide them with actionable steps for reducing energy costs.

"Efficiency Vermont is focused on helping all Vermonters achieve their energy goals," said Jim Merriam, Director of Efficiency Vermont. "That's why we are excited to partner with PlanetEcosystems in this pilot effort to deliver web-based energy efficiency and consumer engagement tools that meet our customers where they are at, and help them get the most value out of their energy dollars."

PlanetEcosystems is deploying two P-ECOSYS web portals with Efficiency Vermont:

  • Consumer Portal: Includes planning tools for consumers to calculate and prioritize energy and water demand reduction actions and investments; consumer action tools with automated directories of qualified contractors, equipment vendors, financing options, and available and applicable rebates and incentives; and social networking tools.
  • Administrator Portal: Includes reporting tools to track and manage energy efficiency programs and performance, and to understand consumer behavior and responsiveness, as well as a system for content management and customer support.

Steve Malloy, co-founder and senior vice president of PlanetEcosystems, added, "We're proud to be working with Efficiency Vermont, a nationally recognized leader in advancing energy efficiency, energy conservation and renewable energy programs across the U.S. By deploying our platform, Efficiency Vermont can engage with its consumers in Vermont at a much deeper level by motivating and supporting heightened levels of action, enabling consumers to access optimizers and other tools not available elsewhere."

About PlanetEcosystems
PlanetEcosystems' P-ECOSYS consumer engagement platform helps utilities and local governments reduce utility demand. P-ECOSYS enables utility consumers and others to easily and automatically generate individually customized consumer action plans that motivate specific energy reduction behavior while saving consumers' money. PlanetEcosystems' patent-pending web tools also provide program managers with unique, economically-oriented data analytics capabilities that significantly enhance the effectiveness of energy efficiency program spending -- often finding tens of thousands of dollars in net savings over the life of a few actions. This platform has an easy plug-and-play implementation, and integrates all utilities -- gas, water and electric -- to provide specific recommendations for changing consumers' behavior to become highly energy efficient, while enhancing consumers' comfort. Enterprise architects are increasingly adopting multi-cloud strategies as they seek to utilize existing data center assets, leverage the advantages of cloud computing and avoid cloud vendor lock-in. This requires a globally aware traffic management strategy that can monitor infrastructure health across data centers and end-user experience globally, while responding to control changes and system specification at the speed of today’s DevOps teams. In his session at 20th Cloud Expo, Josh Gray, Chie...
Adding public cloud resources to an existing application can be a daunting process. The tools that you currently use to manage the software and hardware outside the cloud aren’t always the best tools to efficiently grow into the cloud. All of the major configuration management tools have cloud orchestration plugins that can be leveraged, but there are also cloud-native tools that can dramatically improve the efficiency of managing your application lifecycle. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, ...
Discussions of cloud computing have evolved in recent years from a focus on specific types of cloud, to a world of hybrid cloud, and to a world dominated by the APIs that make today's multi-cloud environments and hybrid clouds possible. In this Power Panel at 17th Cloud Expo, moderated by Conference Chair Roger Strukhoff, panelists addressed the importance of customers being able to use the specific technologies they need, through environments and ecosystems that expose their APIs to make true ...

Most DevOps journeys involve several phases of maturity. Research shows that the inflection point where organizations begin to see maximum value is when they implement tight integration deploying their code to their infrastructure. Success at this level is the last barrier to at-will deployment. Storage, for instance, is more capable than where we read and write data. In his session at @DevOpsSummit at 20th Cloud Expo, Josh Atwell, a Developer Advocate for NetApp, will discuss the role and value...
