HOUSTON, January 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
The Software Intecracy company has organised a presentation of the revolutionary PLAVVY software platform for rapid web-based application development at the office of the Volia Software U.S. IT services company located in Houston (TX). PLAVVY platform supports the full development cycle, from the description of the domain model to automatically generated user interface.
According to the presentation, PLAVVY platform enables IT professionals to develop solutions much faster and thus cheaper comparing to the traditional approach. The range of tasks PLAVVY solves is almost unlimited. This includes the development of collaboration infrastructure, "single window", business intelligence solutions, centralized file storage, business process management and service-oriented architectures, as well as many other specific business tasks.
PLAVVY platform allows to create document-based systems relevant to ECM concepts (Enterprise Content Management), supporting the full documents lifecycle, from preparation of project documents and templates to document storage, ensuring the functions of an electronic archive.
The specialists from the Intecracy Group Consortium, an international consortium of Information & Communication Technology companies, have been working on platform localization and adaptation to the requirements of Ukrainian legislation by the order of Ukrainian partnering company. The work resulted in creating a new solution - UnityBase. The first result of the UnityBase implementation was the electronic document management system of the new generation - UnityBase.M3.
The PLAVVY platform benefits include:
- Performance. PLAVVY provides an industrial level of performance. During the presentation the Intecracy Group specialists provided an example of embedded solution. The system worked well with 5,000 concurrent users accessing it, processing more than 100,000 documents per month. The server load at the same time remained low, thus saving significant amounts on "hardware" rent.
- Low development costs. The platform is based on the "rapid application development - RAD" concept. It provides a set of tools allowing creating an application using only visual interface. Further development of these applications does not require developers, as the system administrator can make changes in the system depending on constantly changing business needs.
- File storage. PLAVVY allows to store files in the database (the system supports all major databases - PostgreSQL, SQLSERVER, Oracle and others) and in the file system. The platform supports over 50 different file conversion formats.
- User Mobility. Access to the system can be arranged anywhere in the world due to the integrated mobile client.
- Full support for cloud technologies. The platform provides full support for cloud technologies to create applications using a web-interface.
- Code reuse. Platform includes a set of ready-to-use modules, including "administration", "organizational structure", "directories" (more than 50 different types - contractors, banks, people and so on), "workflow" and much more.
- Internationalization. PLAVVY supports full localization of applications and data. Interface languages and data are tied to the user, enabling users from different language groups to simultaneously use the system.
- Multiplatform. It does not matter for PLAVVY which operating system is installed on your computer (Windows, Linux, UNIX etc.) as the work is done through the web-interface.
- Administration and security. The system provides flexible adjustment of the access level to various information and functionality based on the organizational structure, user roles and other access policies. Several mechanisms are used to authenticate users, including integration with LDAP, support of Kerberos, two-factor authentication and authorization on the basis of electronic digital signature (EDS). The platform provides optional encryption of traffic between client and server using elliptical cryptography tools.
According to the Gartner Group: "Corporations are now finding that work organized stepwise incurs unavoidable delays and errors as paper is handed off from person to person and unit to unit…IT is the single most powerful tool for breaking traditional assumptions and rules about business, and it is the tool that makes new ways of operation possible." With the presentation of PLAVVY platform the Software Intecracy supported its own statement that the most revolutionary and successful change in IT business practices today is the Rapid Application Development.

I recently attended and presented at the east coast version of the Jenkins User Conference held this year in Washington, DC. The weather certainly fit the theme of the conference: The heat was continuous. The humidity was fully integrated with the heat. And, most importantly as you can see above, SWAG was out in full force. Right from the opening keynote by the founder of Jenkins, Kohsuke Kawaguchi, this conference was jam-packed with all the latest capabilities of Jenkins, including discussi...

While DevOps most critically and famously fosters collaboration, communication, and integration through cultural change, culture is more of an output than an input. In order to actively drive cultural evolution, organizations must make substantial organizational and process changes, and adopt new technologies, to encourage a DevOps culture. Moderated by Andi Mann, panelists discussed how to balance these three pillars of DevOps, where to focus attention (and resources), where organizations migh...

The causality question behind Conway’s Law is less about how changing software organizations can lead to better software, but rather how companies can best leverage changing technology in order to transform their organizations. Hints at how to answer this question surprisingly come from the world of devops – surprising because the focus of devops is ostensibly on building and deploying better software more quickly. Be that as it may, there’s no question that technology change is a primary fac...

Why Docker Is Not Enough By @Bart_Copeland | @DevOpsSummit @ActiveState #DevOps #Docker #Containers #Microservices
I want to start by saying that, at ActiveState, we absolutely love Docker. We think it's phenomenal technology that is really becoming the global currency of the cloud. We've written about Docker a lot on the ActiveState blog – we've celebrated its birthday, discussed evolving technologies surrounding it, and shown how we've integrated Docker into Stackato. But, I wanted to share with you why we feel Docker alone is not enough for the enterprise. First, I'm going to discuss two underlying prob...

The last decade was about virtual machines, but the next one is about containers. Containers enable a service to run on any host at any time. Traditional tools are starting to show cracks because they were not designed for this level of application portability. Now is the time to look at new ways to deploy and manage applications at scale. In his session at 16th Cloud Expo, Jake Moshenko, Product Manager at CoreOS, examined how CoreOS + Quay.io fit into the development lifecycle from pushing gi...

One of the charter responsibilities of DevOps (because it's a charter responsibility of ops) is measuring and monitoring applications once they're in production. That means both performance and availability. Which means a lot more than folks might initially think because generally speaking what you measure and monitor is a bit different depending on whether you're looking at performance or availability*.

The most often asked question post-DevOps introduction is: “How do I get started?” There’s plenty of information on why DevOps is valid and important, but many managers still struggle with simple basics for how to initiate a DevOps program in their business. They struggle with issues related to current organizational inertia, the lack of experience on Continuous Integration/Delivery, understanding where DevOps will affect revenue and budget, etc. In their session at DevOps Summit, JP Morgenthal...

DevOps tends to focus on the relationship between Dev and Ops, putting an emphasis on the ops and application infrastructure. But that’s changing with microservices architectures. In her session at DevOps Summit, Lori MacVittie, Evangelist for F5 Networks, will focus on how microservices are changing the underlying architectures needed to scale, secure and deliver applications based on highly distributed (micro) services and why that means an expansion into “the network” for DevOps.

One of the hottest new terms in the world of enterprise computing is the microservice. Starting with the seminal 2014 article by James Lewis and Martin Fowler of ThoughtWorks, microservices have taken on a life of their own – and as with any other overhyped term, they have generated their fair share of confusion as well. Perhaps the best definition of microservices comes from Janakiram MSV, Principal at Janakiram & Associates. “Microservices are fine-grained units of execution. They are designe...
