Denodo provides several connectors to discover and acquire structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from a diverse set of sources, including enterprise applications, databases, big data, Web data, cloud, social media and unstructured documents. The Denodo platform preserves the native format of the data, including both relational and non-relational, unlike competing solutions that flatten data into relational formats and re-convert into the source format when needed. Data virtualization exposes these sources as virtual data objects that create additional virtual data services by transforming and combining them in real-time, with several query optimization, in-memory and caching techniques, in addition leveraging built-in and external batch integration and data quality tools. Another noteworthy innovation in the Denodo data virtualization platform is its ability to publish data in various formats, such as customized SQL views, Web services and widgets. The Denodo Platform is an independent integration server that runs several server components on any hardware or operating system that is capable of running Java Runtime Environment (JRE)-based applications. Additionally, it provides several design-time and web-based tools for modeling, monitoring and governing data services. It is also equipped with a set of open-source components such as Apache Tomcat, Apache Derby and Java Virtual Machine (JVM). The system's innovative virtual data layer is capable of establishing strong data relationships and transformations; it uses an integrated execution and modeling environment to normalize and transform data and deliver information to other systems or users.

The Denodo Platform also enables automatic query optimization capabilities by virtue of latency balancing, transparent manual control, and modular clustered scalability. The solution offers minimal replication of data, which saves development and processing time as well as effort.
