New BMC Marketplace Accelerates Enterprise App Revolution

Customers can market and sell “private-label” apps 2X as fast as their competitors

BMC Software on Tuesday introduced BMC Marketplace, a cloud-based app store for companies who want to deploy their own "Amazon-like" branded marketplace to market and sell private-label mobile, cloud, custom and desktop applications - twice as fast as any custom alternative.

App stores are very well known in the consumer world, and now their popularity is rapidly increasing in enterprise environments. Gartner recently predicted that 25 percent of large companies will deploy an enterprise app store by 2017, partially in response to the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) movement that is sweeping the workplace.

Key Points to Know

  • BMC Marketplace offers a consumer-style user interface and unique customer purchase automation tracking capabilities to deliver an efficient and simple experience, offering a stark contrast to most custom enterprise app marketplaces
  • BMC Marketplace offers lead generation and transaction processing that enable customers to immediately begin to monetize their application offerings. It also provides partners with automated publishing tools along with vendor approval workflows.
  • Compared to traditional development approaches, BMC Marketplace can be deployed in a matter of weeks and at a much lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
