Internet Librarian 2013 Conference to Host Picturepark Director

Discussion to Help Attendees Understand How They Can Help Organizations Improve DAM Initiatives

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/22/13 -- David Diamond, global marketing director for digital asset management (DAM) software vendor Picturepark®, has been asked to present at Information Today's Internet Librarian 2013 Conference in Monterey, California on October 29. Diamond will discuss ways in which librarians and other information professionals can use their skills and experience to help organizations improve their digital asset management initiatives.

"The advice and guidance of an information professional is the most important secret weapon a DAM initiative can have," Diamond said. "The problem is that too many organizations don't understand this. I'll show attendees ways in which they can make clearer the benefits they offer."

The session, entitled "Info Pro Skills for the Future," will also feature presentations from Ruth A. Kneale, Systems Librarian for the Advanced Technology Solar Telescope (ATST) at the National Solar Observatory, and Deb Hunt, Library Director of the Mechanics' Institute.

Diamond was awarded the 2013 "DAMMY of the Year" for his educational contributions to the DAM community. His book, DAM Survival Guide, can be purchased from Amazon. A free 101-page excerpt can be downloaded from the Picturepark website at http://picturepark.com/free-dam-book

Now in its 17th year, Internet Librarian is the largest event of its kind. It is hosted by Information Today, Inc. Learn more at http://www.infotoday.com/il2013/

About Picturepark
Picturepark digital asset management software enables organizations to centrally store, manage and share digital assets on a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is scalable, based on open standards, and available in the Cloud (SaaS), on-premise or in hybrids. Picturepark is suitable for enterprise-wide DAM deployment thanks, in part, to load-balancing, failover, service-based computer clustering, and support for true multi-tenant deployment. Adaptive Metadata technology enables each class of asset to have its own metadata schema that can evolve over time. Support for multiple taxonomies and controlled vocabularies is standard. The Picturepark Web Services API enables developers to integrate Picturepark with other systems. Embedded and branded Web portals based on HTML5/CSS can be built using the graphical Picturepark Ports tool.
