MRO Corp., a leading provider of technology-driven disclosure management services and applications for healthcare organizations, today announced that it has become a Health Information Service Provider (HISP), enabling the company to offer provider-branded Direct Project domain mailboxes, email addresses and direct secure messaging (DSM) capabilities to healthcare providers.
“Through our HISP and direct messaging services, MRO clients will be equipped with a secure, compliant and cost-efficient solution to meet patient engagement requirements outlined in Stage 2 of meaningful use,” says David Borden, MRO’s chief technology officer. “Additionally, we believe MRO’s ability to easily integrate our Direct Project services with a client’s overall disclosure management program is a true valued service for healthcare providers.”
HISP services are a part of MRO’s suite of health information exchange (HIE) solutions that include electronic submission of medical documentation (esMD) for CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) audits; direct secure messaging capabilities; patient and provider portals; and Social Security Administration portals for patient eligibility for disability determination. MRO’s service-oriented technology offerings complement its release-of-information (ROI) and other disclosure management services.
“We have long been fulfilling basic HIE functions by electronically accepting and delivering requests for medical records on behalf of our clients,” says Steve Hynes, president of MRO. “With the secure and compliant exchange of PHI at the very core of our business, our expansion into the HIE landscape is a natural progression of the development of MRO’s services and applications.”
MRO’s latest technology solutions will be displayed at the annual HIMSS conference March 3-7, 2013, in New Orleans at booth 245 and in the Meaningful Use Experience demonstration area.
