Rocket Software, Inc. (www.rocketsoftware.com) today announced the general availability of LegaSuite 7.1, the latest version of its application modernization suite for user experience development, SOA integration, and enterprise mobile application development. LegaSuite 7.1 features LegaSuite Mobile, a new enterprise mobility product that enables organizations in any industry to facilitate mobile application development and integration with mission-critical enterprise applications.
LegaSuite Mobile solutions can be deployed as mobile web applications or using an enterprise app store, and leverage technologies such as HTML5 and PhoneGap, which are approved for deployment in the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Microsoft Store.
"Rocket's new LegaSuite Mobile solution enables enterprises to go mobile very quickly and deploy their applications for the most widely-used mobile devices," says Sam Elias, Vice President and General Manager, Application Development, Integration, and Modernization Business Unit at Rocket Software. "Customers can create mobile user experiences that feature designs and controls that today’s mobile-savvy users expect. They also can connect and integrate their mobile applications with their mission-critical enterprise resources in a way that takes minimal time and effort and is unique in the marketplace."
"Our mobile sales force will use LegaSuite Mobile to interact with real-time sales data," says Jeff Bollard, IT Manager, Precision Pulley. "The key advantage to a mobile app is that our sales team can work with sales data from their smartphones and tablets, which means they don't have to get out their laptops and find a Wi-Fi connection."
Technology executives are faced with several challenges to enable enterprise mobility, including meeting user experience and device expectations, allowing mobile application interoperability with current enterprise systems and gaining a faster time to market for their mobile solution. LegaSuite Mobile meets these enterprise mobility challenges in three key areas:
- Mobile User Experience and Design. LegaSuite Mobile lets you develop leading-edge mobile user experiences for iOS, Android and Windows 8 mobile devices. LegaSuite creates cross-platform mobile applications that run on all of these platforms, reaching over 85% of the global device market in a single development effort.
- Mobile Application Integration. LegaSuite offers enterprise mobile integration with any application or data source. You can access enterprise applications using RESTful web services, traditional Windows user interfaces, as well as mainframe, midrange, and UNIX host applications. LegaSuite can also access any enterprise database, from DB2 to SQL Server.
- Rapid Time-to-Market for Mobile Application Development. LegaSuite lets you deliver mobile solutions to your enterprise users extremely quickly since you can develop mobile applications for the three most popular platforms from one development effort. LegaSuite also boosts your development time since it lets you easily integrate with any enterprise resource with or without having a service-oriented architecture layer.
LegaSuite 7.1 also features support for RESTful web services and message routing in LegaSuite Integration and an upgraded version of LegaSuite Text Translation Tool (TTT), an application translation tool.
