SEATTLE, Dec. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Trumba Corporation, a developer of innovative online calendaring solutions, announced today that San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) selected Trumba Connect to power their online event calendars. Trumba Connect helps organizations increase event awareness and attendance and better connects them with their audiences through a comprehensive suite of tools that includes a hosted, interactive web calendar, email, and reporting services.

SAPL leverages Trumba's calendar sharing features to provide complete event information for its Central Library and all 25 individual branch locations. Each location's calendar can be viewed individually or any combination of branch calendars can be combined into one master calendar and displayed together. Trumba's powerful publishing features allow SAPL's audience to filter 29 event types (Story Times, Classes, Lectures, Movies and more) and/or six audience types (age groups such as Kids, Adults, Seniors) so that site visitors can easily find specific events of interest. Trumba's keyword search provides another tool for quickly finding a specific event. SAPL also provides four of Trumba's many calendar view options (table, list, month and detail) allowing visitors to tailor their view to their individual preference.
Trumba's online event submission feature makes it easy for SAPL to collect events from library staff across the branches. All events that require approval before being published are submitted by staff members via their intranet to an internal calendar. An email notification is automatically sent to the calendar administrator who can then configure the event and move it to the appropriate public calendar. SAPL also publishes an internal calendar of staff training and professional development events on their intranet. These internal calendars are not publically accessible. By adding training as an event type in Trumba, SAPL can accurately track and report on the training that their staff attends.
"We really like how Trumba's custom fields make it easy to customize our event information," says Adam Spana, SAPL's Digital Services Librarian. "We also appreciate how easy it is to structure and submit event data, and republish it elsewhere such as in our printed newsletters, in addition to displaying various calendars on our web site. Trumba's RSS feeds, email and text message reminders, and other event actions are a great example of leveraging every way there is to communicate with the public and increase engagement with our library and events."
Trumba will be exhibiting Trumba Connect at the American Library Association Midwinter Meeting (ALAMW13) in Seattle, WA January 25-29, 2013. For information go to http://alamw13.ala.org/
