NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 11/15/12 -- The Daniels Network, LLC, a marketing solutions and strategic insight consultancy serving the pharmaceutical and health care sectors, has launched a new website, Black Health Matters, at the DTC National Multicultural Marketing conference in Orlando, Florida. Black Health Matters is a video centric educational network that provides health care professionals and consumers with expert advice to improve Black health, while addressing the complex social and economic issues that often lead to health disparities in minority communities.
"Black Health Matters was launched to provide at-risk and under-served consumers with information to take action to benefit their health through early disease awareness and treatment," said Roslyn Daniels, CEO of The Daniels Network. "African-American patients, while typically over-indexing for a variety of diseases, including diabetes, obesity and certain cancers, are still not being properly addressed by the health care industries. We believe that Black Health Matters is the first step in a long process in rectifying this issue."
Black Health Matters will provide information about health and well-being from a service-oriented perspective while providing solutions in a positive tone. The site will feature articles on the latest health and medical news impacting African-Americans, beauty and lifestyle stories including detailed pieces about plastic and reconstructive surgeries following illnesses, spirituality and inspirational techniques to promote holistic well-being and healthy recipes on cultural favorites.
Through partnerships with the Association of Black Cardiologists and America's Minority Health Network, Black Health Matters aims to provide a comprehensive multi-channel network designed specifically to directly engage the consumer. The website features the largest online library of health and wellness videos targeting African-Americans and mobile engagement elements include texting to receive coupons and incentives to fill prescriptions and motivate compliance.
