Intel CEO Says Windows 8 Isn’t Ready: Bloomberg

Windows 8, which is supposed to be released in a month, isn't ready, Intel CEO Paul Otellini told employees in Taiwan according to Bloomberg, which talked to somebody who was there.

Intel, of course, is depending on the new operating system to tickle PC sales.

Otellini, however, reportedly said it needs improvements.

He's doubtlessly unhappy that - in a break with tradition - Windows 8 will also support the ARM chip as well the x86 in an effort to chase Apple in the tablet space.

He reportedly allowed that Microsoft could always patch the thing in the field and, with an eye on the clock, said Microsoft was doing the right thing.

Intel is supposed to tout Windows 8-based tablets at an event Thursday, September 27.

Others have recently voiced concerns over the level of bugs and tuning still needed. Microsoft brushed the worries aside saying, "With over 16 million active preview participants, Windows 8 is the most tested, reviewed and ready operating system in Microsoft's history."
