The video debuting today on Interim HealthCare's YouTube channel http://youtu.be/vn_cjxpM8a8 highlights Mary Burr's mother, an Interim HealthCare Hospice patient who was undergoing hospice care in her home. During the documentary, photos of Mary Burr and her mother fill the screen, while she shares the importance Interim HealthCare Hospice has made in giving her and their entire family peace of mind knowing that her mother is being cared for in a loving and safe environment. Viewers will also experience the tremendous bond between the patient and her hospice nurse, Jennifer Grant.
"November's National Hospice Month and is a terrific opportunity to raise awareness and encourage education about hospice care and its positive impact on patients and their families," said Kathleen Gilmartin, President and CEO of Interim HealthCare. "Although Hospice care has been available for over 30 years, many patients don't learn about this compassionate model of care until they are faced with making important decisions concerning a terminally ill family member. Our attentive and companionate hospice team is available to step in at any time and help and answer difficult questions in a more relaxed and comfortable environment."
Interim HealthCare Hospice provides medical and psychosocial care for terminally ill patients in their last several months of life. It includes the best in medical and nursing care, using state-of-the-art symptom management to control symptoms and promote comfort. The program was founded on the belief that the final stages of life should be lived with the greatest degree of comfort and dignity possible.
The eight mini-documentary videos, which run in length from four-to-seven minutes, were filmed with actual Interim HealthCare patients and clients. The remaining three videos will be posted to Interim HealthCare's YouTube channel and distributed to Interim HealthCare franchisees across the country to educate their respective communities on the services they provide.
