AppZero CEO to Show New Technology During Cloud Expo Speech

Slate of activities and offerings to further the movement of enterprise applications to and from clouds

AppZero, pioneer in virtualization of enterprise applications, announced that CEO Greg O'Connor will speak on "The Elastic Enterprise:  Application Agility Holds Fey to Hybrid Clouds" at Cloud Expo West, Wednesday at 9:00am. Discussing the critical roles played by application agility and server application virtualization in delivering on the promises of Elastic Enterprise and Hybrid Clouds, O'Connor will also demonstrate newly released technology. This technology will make provisioning existing enterprise applications to and from all cloud types as simple as using an app store.

"Over the years, I've seen the focus at Cloud Expo evolve from tire-kicking curiosity to laser-like search for practical ways to turn good ideas into good business," O'Connor noted. "This year, our product leapfrogs the evolutionary pace with a sensible and innovative approach to moving enterprise applications - anywhere."

AppZero plans to showcase this technology in its booth, anticipating great interest from managed service providers looking to attract enterprise business to their clouds. Enterprises that have an interest in freely traversing all forms of cloud -- private and public, federated and hybrid - will also benefit.

The company has an established presence in the ISV (Independent Software Vendor) community which values the ability to freely move their own applications for instant demos and proof of concepts (POC).  For this group, AppZero has packaged a services lead, fixed price offering that will kick start software vendors' exploration of application virtualization's impact on their sales cycle.

Technical fans will be pleased to learn of a refreshed assortment of ready-made VAAs for download at http://zone.appzero.com.

About AppZero
AppZero virtualizes server applications for portability and ease of distribution.  AppZero's patented software packages Windows, Linux, and Solaris applications in OS-free Virtual Application Appliances (VAA) for rapid provisioning: across a network, on any server (physical or virtual), in the data center, hosted, or in the cloud, without change or lock-in.  The result is applications that can easily move from one environment to another as quickly as business circumstances require.  First to market virtualizing server applications, the company also offers a Windows desktop version. Adding public cloud resources to an existing application can be a daunting process. The tools that you currently use to manage the software and hardware outside the cloud aren’t always the best tools to efficiently grow into the cloud. All of the major configuration management tools have cloud orchestration plugins that can be leveraged, but there are also cloud-native tools that can dramatically improve the efficiency of managing your application lifecycle. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, ...
The now mainstream platform changes stemming from the first Internet boom brought many changes but didn’t really change the basic relationship between servers and the applications running on them. In fact, that was sort of the point. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Gordon Haff, senior cloud strategy marketing and evangelism manager at Red Hat, will discuss how today’s workloads require a new model and a new platform for development and execution. The platform must handle a wide range of rec...
Containers and Kubernetes allow for code portability across on-premise VMs, bare metal, or multiple cloud provider environments. Yet, despite this portability promise, developers may include configuration and application definitions that constrain or even eliminate application portability. In this session we'll describe best practices for "configuration as code" in a Kubernetes environment. We will demonstrate how a properly constructed containerized app can be deployed to both Amazon and Azure ...
