Innovation on Ulitzer - An Enterprise Cloud Migration Factory

Readers of the Innovation Blog on Ulitzer recognize that what is afoot is nothing less than a complete economic business model

Innovation on Ulitzer

On-premise vendors continue to struggle in transitioning their products to a Software as a Service (SaaS) model according to Brian Sommer at ZDNet.  In his latest blog, “The Expanding Gap Between On-Premise and SaaS Solutions he outlines some of the issues, namely, multitenancy, platform, and solution integration with SaaS.

For many of you, as readers of the innovation blog on Ulitzer, you recognize that what is afoot is nothing less than a complete economic business model, and cultural shift, in service delivery innovation – not an easy transition for any company, and even less so for the on-premise providers that understand what is at stake here.

In the meantime, are you wondering how to get your business and applications ready for the cloud?  If so, you will want to take a look at ServiceMesh – a cloud migration factory.

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting briefly with Dave Roberts, VP of Strategy and Marketing at ServiceMesh.  Dave is an industry veteran with prior experience at companies like Vyatta, Inkra, Nortel Networks, Bay Networks, Cabletron, AMD, and HP.  Experienced in numerous networking and software technologies, Mr. Roberts holds ten patents, and is the author of three books. Mr. Roberts also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

I met Dave through a good friend, and industry colleague currently working at Salesforce.com, and Dave was kind enough to provide me with a brief overview of his company.

ServiceMesh is an enterprise software company that helps large enterprises adopt an on-demand, everything-as-a-service IT operating model. In plain-speak, it sells a system that helps big companies ‘go-cloud’, but don’t exactly know which workloads to prioritize, or how to approach the move of applications to cloud service providers in a manner that maintains consistency with their existing IT governance efforts and controls.

The company’s ServiceMesh Agility™ platform (depicted below) works with your existing application developer and development tools, to facilitate your organization’s workload migration to the cloud.

So if you’re in the planning stages of your move to the cloud, give them a call, and see how they can help you.
