TAMPA, Fla., March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Caribbean Cruise Line (http://www.caribbeancl.com/) plans to begin service to the Bahamas out of the Port of Palm Beach starting March 15. With its new flagship, the Bahamas Celebration, Caribbean Cruise Line will be the first multi-day cruise line to operate out of the port since 1966, according to port officials.
Caribbean Cruise Line plans to set sail every other day for Grand Bahamas Island and offer two-, four- and six-night cruise packages in partnership with the Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort, said Robert Mitchell, the President of the cruise line. In a recent news release announcing the cruise service, Port of Palm Beach Executive Director Manny Almira referred to the Bahamas Celebration as the port's "crown jewel."
And to five-year-old cancer survivor Mackenzie Gonzalez, the Bahamas Celebration is indeed a gem. Caribbean Cruise Line, a sponsor of the Children Battling Cancer organization, recently treated Mackenzie and her family to an all-expenses-paid cruise vacation.
"Mackenzie's wish has totally come true ... beyond everyone's wildest dream," said Mackenzie's mother, Sue. "This has been the most unbelievable week of our lives. We have no words to thank the amazing staff of the Bahamas Celebration ... From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty ... We made so many beautiful family memories ....
"Caribbean Cruise Line is going to send one child each month on their ship. They are certain they can make a difference in the lives of sick kids and their families."

On the Bahamas Celebration, there is certain to be something for every family member. The ship features the following range of amenities:
- Fine dining, from buffets to sit-down elegance
- Live entertainment
- Las Vegas-style casino
- Fountain of Youth Spa and Salon
- Fitness center
- Three kids' areas
- Internet cafe
- The View nightclub, karaoke lounge, piano lounge and Pub 437
The Bahamas Celebration was selected as the "Best Bahamas Getaway Cruise in 2010" by Bill Panoff, editor-in-chief of Porthole cruise magazine. "Our goal at Caribbean Cruise Line was never to be the biggest cruise line to the Bahamas, only the best cruise to the Bahamas," said Robert Mitchell. "Being the best Bahamas cruise comes from providing a memorable cruise experience at the lowest price."
U.S. citizens will not need passports to travel on the cruise, unless they debark the ship for an extended hotel stay in the Bahamas and return at a later date.
