NetIQ OEMs Centrify’s Widgetry

NetIQ Session at Cloud Expo

NetIQ has licensed and rebranded Centrify's cross-platform identity and access management widgetry and integrated it into its product line.

It will use Centrify's DirectControl and DirectAuthorize technologies to extend its Active Directory management capabilities for non-Microsoft platforms and hypervisors, calling it NetIQ Identity Integration Suite.

NetIQ's already got solutions for Active Directory-based delegated administration, group policy and password management. The Centrify technology will increase its users' security and improve their compliance while reducing their operating cost and complexity.

Integrating Unix systems with Microsoft Active Directory pares costs, enhances admin productivity and reduces sign-in complexity.

Centrify says the deal, which means NetIQ will provide support and deployment services, will effectively expand its sales force, reinforce its status as an enterprise solution provider, and possibly tickle its revenue growth and ongoing profitability. NetIQ, an Attachmate business, claims more than 12,000 customers in 60 countries. Centrify claims 1,500 enterprise customers, including 38% of the Fortune 50.
