Jaspersoft announced that Virgin Money, the financial services arm of Virgin Group, has chosen the BI vendor to provide reporting and analysis for its new, not-for-profit fundraising and donation website Virgin Money Giving.
Virgin Money Giving is a new web service for charitable organizations to manage fundraising campaigns and their online presence among donors. It will also help the public donate safely online and ensure that their charity of choice receives more of the money they give.
Jeremy Walters, Head of Systems Development, Virgin Money Giving, said: "Open source software enables innovative business models, including the one we're rolling out to support charitable giving in a responsible way."
"As a not-for-profit business, Virgin Money Giving can work with companies such as Jaspersoft to ensure that a much larger percentage of donations go to the important causes donors choose."
Jaspersoft's open source BI software enables a level of customization not available from traditional vendors, which played a significant role in Virgin Money Giving's decision to deploy Jaspersoft. Additionally, the organization wanted reporting to be an integral part of the online portal and web service. Jaspersoft is easily embedded into any environment and in this implementation, allows multiple charities to use the Virgin Money Giving service while accessing only their own data.
There are nearly 1.5 million not-for-profit organizations operating around the world. At least half of those organizations require more than spreadsheets to manage relationships with large groups of constituents.
Virgin Money is the official sponsor of the London Marathon for the next five years. Together, they are targeting to raise 250 million pounds by the end of their five-year contract. Virgin Money Giving will play a key role in helping them achieve this.
"Charities are feeling the affects of the recession, and the way donations are received and processed is more important than ever," said Brian Gentile, CEO of Jaspersoft. "By choosing Jaspersoft, Virgin Money Giving can make sure that process is held to the very highest of standards while reducing costs by using specific BI tools developed using the open source development model."
