HOUSTON, September 14, 2009 – Mezeo Software, the leading provider of deployable cloud storage solutions, today announced it has partnered with Nexenta Systems, the leading provider of enterprise-class open storage software, to offer a complete, service-enabled cloud storage offering that can be quickly deployed in any technology environment.
The Mezeo™ Cloud Storage Platform is a software-only, simple to deploy solution that enables service providers to quickly deliver their own branded cloud storage service. NexentaStor from Nexenta Systems is ideally suited to provide a high performance and highly scalable storage infrastructure to support the Mezeo Platform. The joint solution enables service providers to accelerate their time to market, offer advanced cloud storage services and offer a competitively priced, dependable and secure service to their customers.
“We chose to partner with Mezeo because of the superior user experience of their solution, including its use of RESTful Web services APIs and WebDAV support,” said Evan Powell, Chief Executive Officer of Nexenta Systems. “We are impressed with Mezeo’s understanding of the requirements of service providers and their focus on helping service providers quickly deploy a range of feature-rich storage services to their own customers. I believe that Mezeo and Nexenta offer an unmatched total solution to service providers deploying cloud storage services.”
Unlike other vendors who rely primarily on access methods such as NFS and CIFS that can limit accessibility via the Web, Mezeo’s RESTful Web Services APIs allow service providers to extend the capabilities and services of their cloud storage infrastructure far beyond what is offered by traditional storage. This delivers the anytime/anywhere access service providers – and their customers – demand.
“NexentaStor software fits well with Mezeo solutions because NexentaStor delivers truly enterprise-class storage performance and data integrity as well as significant savings in a hardware independent, virtualization aware solution. We believe NexentaStor provides an ideal foundation for cloud storage solutions,” said Mezeo President and CEO Steve Lesem. “To compete in today’s ‘eat or be eaten’ environment, service providers need the cloud-scale performance that our partnership with Nexenta provides.”
The Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform is highly secure, with SSL encryption of files in transfer and 256-bit AES encryption for data at rest. This enables users to have anytime/anywhere access to stored files via the web, smartphones (BlackBerry,® iPhone and Windows Mobile®) and desktop, using the Mezeo Native client for Windows and WebDAV-based connectivity for Linux and Mac.
The Mezeo team is announcing the partnership at the Tier 1 Hosting Transformation Summit North America, which runs September 14 to 16 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mezeo is a Gold Sponsor and will be exhibiting at the event in booth #4.
