As a private yacht charter broker I travel throughout the world looking for the most amazing yachts and locations for holidays. This series of articles are written to share with you a glimpse into what it's like to travel aboard these luxury yachts throughout the world. Private yachting is an incredible way to travel and explore exciting destinations and it's probably not as expensive as you imagine. I will do my best to share these experiences with you in my articles. Please send me an Email with any questions about private yacht charters and I will try to answer them personally or in subsequent articles.
I have just returned from a week in Croatia and have chosen that destination as an introduction to this exciting sserieson Luxurious Private Yacht Charter Travel.
If you can imagine a yacht reminiscent of the Great Gatsby era and a coastline of azure blue water contrasting the hillsides of beautiful homes with orange tile roofs - then you can begin to imagine the world you will enter while on charter aboard the classic Motor Yacht Seagull II (Click here for password) based in Croatia.
I began my visit to Croatia on the island of Brac in Croatia where I spent a day aboard the M/Y Seagull II. (Click here for password) It is hard to imagine that this beautiful 177' yacht was originally built in 1952 and started life as a 700 passenger ferry. Her new life started in 2004 - 2005 when her new owner, who fell in love with her elegant lines and cruiser stern, rebuilt her as a luxury motor yacht. She now accommodates 12 passengers in spacious staterooms and elegant Art Nouveau settings. Her amazing wide decks are reminisant of a small cruise ship as are her spacious deck areas which offer the perfect vantage point for viewing the magnificent Croatian coastline with its hundreds and hundreds of islands.
Captain Lukas is very charming and accommodating to his guests. Having lived in Croatia his entire life, his knowledge of the country and the islands will insure that you get a true sense of the country and its people. If you have not yet cruised this fabulous coastline - be sure to but this on your 'bucket list'.
