PHOENIX, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 09/11/09 -- The Arizona Solar Power Society (http://www.meetup.com/arizona-solar-power-society/) announced today a FREE solar manufacturing business conference that presents a "Roadmap to Building Solar Power Manufacturing Plants in Arizona." Attendees need to RSVP at: http://www.meetup.com/arizona-solar-power-society/calendar/11138868/
The event will feature PowerPoint presentations from:
1. Chris Camacho, Greater Phoenix Economic Council
2. Bill Becker, Incentives Advisors, which drafted much of Arizona's
solar incentive program
3. Roger Little, Spire Corporation, which provides business plans and
turnkey production lines and capital equipment for solar
manufacturing plants.
The event will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 7:00 pm at the Embassy Suites hotel located at 1515 N 44th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
The purpose of the presentation is to educate investors, entrepreneurs, solar manufacturing companies, large solar installation companies and solar cooperatives on the millions of incentive dollars available in Arizona via Senate Bill 1403, an actual business plan and turnkey solar manufacturing package that are available for less than $10 million, and the dramatic economic impact that would result from harnessing Arizona's vast wealth of semiconductor talent and existing semiconductor manufacturing facilities and transforming them into one of the leading solar manufacturing business hubs in the world.
According to Bill Becker, CEO of Incentives Advisors, "SB1403 is a powerful incentive package which will bring Arizona into the forefront of renewable energy development."
The catalyst for the marketing of Arizona to potential solar manufacturing companies was a law (SB1403) signed by Arizona Governor. Jan Brewer on July 10 that offers financial incentives to renewable-energy companies. It gives those that open new headquarters and factories in Arizona as much as a 10 percent credit on their capital investment and as much as an 80 percent discount on property taxes if they pay high enough wages and benefits.
The Arizona Solar Power Society is the largest solar association in Arizona, with more than 700 members. The group serves as the state's largest solar incubator and promotes solar technology through solar installation training classes, solar seminars, solar workshops, business conferences and trade shows. Membership is free. Why not join today and begin your solar education! More information is at: http://www.meetup.com/arizona-solar-power-society/about/
