Pagemark Technology, Inc., an industry-leading expert in XML Paper Specification rendering technology, today announced the launch of three new XPS applications. XpsConvert™, XpsViewer™ and XpsPlugin™ all offer XPS document and file management control and convenience, thereby saving time and money for enterprises, OEMs and general users. XPS documents offer benefits to users throughout the document workflow including support for security features such as digital signatures. In parallel, Pagemark has launched an e-commerce component to its website to help streamline the distribution of its new XPS applications.
“We are very excited about the launch of these new XPS applications and our new e-commerce website,” said RanDair Porter, CEO of Pagemark Technology. “There is a lot of momentum around XPS adoption in the general marketplace. To that end, we have taken the next step in our business growth from providing custom solutions for OEMs and enterprises to now also offering application-based XPS solutions for consumer use. Our goal is to offer an end-to-end, rich user experience in working with XPS documents.”
As an example of the product in the marketplace, the core technology of Pagemark’s application was recently used in GreenPrint Technologies LLC's new 2.0 version of its paper-saving software product (www.printgreener.com). GreenPrint’s new product eliminates unwanted pages from being printed and reduces printing by 17% or more. GreenPrint redesigned their solution from the ground up using XPS print path technology and Pagemark’s high-performance XPS rendering solution. Some of the added enhanced functionality that Pagemark provided include faster time to preview and exporting XPS to PDF.
“Pagemark played a pivotal role in the development of our new GreenPrint version 2.0,” said GreenPrint CEO Hayden Hamilton. “With their XPS SDK solution, they enabled our product to accurately render and display documents and images at a high performance rate. Not only was their technology critical to the success of our new version, but their outstanding support through the development cycle was invaluable. We look forward to our continued relationship with Pagemark.”
Pagemark XpsConvert is a powerful, high-performance stand-alone command-line utility for converting XPS documents into various file types. It is the first fully functional XPS-to-PDF conversion tool on the market. XpsConvert can be used as a batch conversion tool, with wildcard, or configured within a server environment. XpsConvert will convert XPS documents into PDF, JPG, TIF, PNG, CCITT Fax, and RAW documents and files, while providing a wide range of options for: controlling the output resolution, color via ICC profiles, page selection, and user-supplied content added to the converted page such as stamps and watermarks.
Pagemark XpsViewer is a high-performance XPS viewer with its small size, fast launch speed, high quality, and rich feature set. It supports fast, high-quality XPS viewing; Export to PDF, TIF, JPG, and PNG; Copy Text to Clipboard; and Keyword Search. XpsViewer supports Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/Windows 7, Apple Macintosh, and Linux. It is fully compatible with the now standard OpenXPS specification.
Pagemark XpsPlugin allows Firefox™ and Safari™ web users to easily view XPS content that exists on internal and external networks. Previously, XPS content could only be displayed if using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer under Windows Vista or .NET 3 platforms. The user interface is straightforward and uncomplicated while at the same time very fast and easy to use and navigate. The application supports copying text and images to the clipboard, allowing users to copy content into other applications and the ability to save XPS documents to other formats.
