Talend, the open source data integration ISV, has got a new near real-time data integration platform called Integration Suite RTX that offers seamless information synchronization across information systems and is supposed to bolster productivity, reduce costs, and improve customer service.
The company says that with up-to-the-minute data, users get more consistent data across their applications and hence should make better decisions.
Online merchants, for instance, could offer on-the-fly promotions based on user behavior, theoretically achieving better response rates.
It's also supposed to improve customer service by synchronizing and maintaining data from multiple sources so all stakeholders can access accurate information. Speed is everything these days.
RTX features a high-throughput message-based architecture and integrates into SOA and Message Oriented Middleware (MOM) infrastructures. RTX automates the deployment of integration processes either as Data Integration Services or Data Services for complete integration into SOAs.
The WDSL descriptor, UDDI entries, and SOA binding are automatically generated and RTX handles the instantiation and resource management required (think connection pools, integration processes pools, load balancing and failover).
The software also supports multiple modes of event-based execution for data integration processes. Its event listeners support JMS-based MOM and ESB as well as remote procedure calls, HTTP and socket calls.
The widgetry leverages Talend's 400 connectors to source and target technologies, including real-time connectors to Web Services, MOM, and business apps such as Salesforce.com, SAP, SugarCRM, and Microsoft Dynamics.
It detects changes in data sources in near real-time, decreasing the size of the datasets processed, another little time-saver.
